There are a couple articles here on monitors. The first one mentions
the Samsung XL20 as being backlighted with LEDs instead of CCFL lamps.
The second article is a basic technology article about modern monitors,
and mentions some features that help ruin some monitors for Photoshop work.
(A monitor with dynamic contrast, will prevent the monitor from being
calibrated. It means they adjust the backlight, based on analysing the
picture contents. If you see a contrast of 3000:1, be suspicious.)

There are other companies that make monitors for professional use.
I don't think this one uses LEDs.
