Default lost dvd and cd drives

Please help after having a power surge and frying my power supply i
fitted a new power supply and when restarted my pc the dvd and cd
drives have gone looked in bios not ther either checked all connections
pulled leads off and on tryed everything all help appreciated operating
system xp

Likely the controller they're on or less likey the drives themselves got fried.

Try with just one of them on the same ribbon cable as the hard drive.

yes it works now is it ok to leave it this way

Wont do any harm to keep using it while it keeps working.

It may not work for too much longer tho, not all of the damage caused
by a severe over voltage shows up immediately, it may die a little later.
