Name of this power connector and cord ?

What is the proper name of the power cord that's sometimes
used when AC power for the monitor is taken from the
computer's PSU box ? Power goes into the PSU via a male
3-pin connector, and the monitor is supplied via a female
counterpart. For that matter, what's the name of this type
of power connector with three flat pins, male or female ?

It's an IEC connector, so the one on a PSU is a male IEC
socket (though some call it a plug).

Keep in mind that only crap PSU have a male IEC socket on
them these days.

Oops, I meant the one always on a PSU for the AC cord is a
male IEC, while what you wanted is a female (to plug in the
monitor cord).

Actually, I needed to know for a different reason than
connecting a monitor from the PSU. A customer has a UPS
that provides only IEC320 sockets and needed the matching
cables. I had a few spares on hand but I'd never got
around to learning the names of those IEC320 C13 and C14
connectors before.

If I may be so bold, do you not mean most have dropped the
FEMALE (C13) IEC outlet? Isn't the male inlet (C14) for the
AC input? And this connects to an AC cord with the female C13
line socket termination?

Or am I "yet again" clueless?

My experience has been that, in addition to the male input
connector, a PSU has either an outlet socket OR a power
switch, apparently because there's usually no room for both.

Clueless describes lack of clues regarding a particular
topic, not an insult against a person.

When I made my first post, I was clueless that I had it
backwards, had been thinking of the AC input male socket as
you wrote.... then in the latter post I corrected that.

Commonly known in the UK as a "kettle plug" like the ones used my the
non-cordless kettles here.
