Default Nervous Winfows?

When I close Windows Explorer window (by clicking on the 'x'), I get a
replication of explorer windows. Likewise, I get same replication
sometimes when I select windows explorer icon on the desktop.
Any ideas why?

(W98SE)

I have tried several mice.

Thanks

Ok all

Solved the beeps and nervous windows. Turned out that my old keyboard
had a stuck <Enter> key (lower right). When I un-stuck it, no more
beeping and no more nervous windows, Thanks for thinking about this
anyway.
