TAMPA - Detectives have identified a suspect in the murder of a man
found in his Carrollwood home Wednesday.
Authorities are looking for 23-year-old Joshua Charles Thomas. He is
wanted in connection with the death of 31-year-old Rafael Perez.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Perez's roommate
found him dead inside their home at the 5400 block of Friarsway Drive.
Perez was found with multiple gunshot wounds, the sheriff's office said.
Neighbors told investigators they had seen a black, 2000 Chevrolet SUV
at the house about 20 minutes before Perez's roommate came home. They
said the SUV had been to the house several times in the past couple of days.
Detectives say they have talked to witnesses who say Thomas confessed to
killing Perez. They say drugs may have played a role.
Authorities say Thomas is likely still driving the black SUV, and should
be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Joshua Thomas is asked to call 911
or the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200.
