Try in this newsgroup.

alt.comp.periphs.videocards.nvidia

I tried looking at some pictures of 8800GTS PCB on Xbitlabs.com ,
but I cannot figure out what that header is for. I see a connector
intended for the end user, near the SLI connector in this picture.
The position of your two pin header, is quite different.

When you post to the Nvidia group, you might post the exact make
and model number of the card, to help the readers of your
posting.

Based on it's location and the power plane around it, I'd
"_guess_" that is an aux. 12V power header. If you have a
multimeter you might try taking a voltage reading off of it.
If the card works though, what does it matter? Just don't
put a jumper on it until you know, since it wouldn't be a
good thing if it were a power header.

FWIW, my EVGA 8800GT has the same header, in the same location. I was
wondering what it is for as well.
