Default PCI EXpress backwards compatible with PCI ?

I want to use PCI Hauppage tv card in a PCI Xpress slot, is this possible
and will it have efect on the general bus speed or overallperformance of the
system (will it fit in HP slimseries ?)
And does Vista support pci cards that are somewhat older but worked in XP???

Default Re: PCI EXpress backwards compatible with PCI ?

PCI cards are completely INCOMPATIBLE with PCI-E slots. They have a
different number of pins and a different voltage.

PCI Express is a different standard than PCI.

The connectors are different. The electrical signals are different.

Are you sure there isn't a PCI slot in the "HP slimseries" ?

What is the model number of the HP computer ? Do you have a link
to the product page on the HP site ?
