Please help with audio capture problem

In all of my audio capture programs, my sound cards ( I installed a
new one thinking this was the problem) show up but no sound is
recognized. This has been driving me crazy for three days. I would
appriciate help from anyone.

Have you checked the little software mixing desk that comes with your
sound card ? It should be down in the task bar on the bottom right.
For some reason some of the things can be set to mute by default.

If you are using your CD/DVD drive to play sound, have you connected the
little audio cable that came with the drive, to the sound card ?

These might help! All I did was a search using "sound card no sound".
