power surge on hub port error plz help!

my problems began when i turned my computer on yesterday... I noticed
a strange smell coming from the back of my computer. Everything loaded
up fine so I ignored it, when I logged in to windows i got this error
message balloon: Power surge on hub port error. After clicking the
balloon i got a box that said I should reset the port. I tried this
several times and it didnt work. Now none of my USB ports work. I have
two on the front and four in the back. My computer is an emachines
T1840 and the only USB devices i had hooked up to it were a lexmark
Z25 printer and a radioshack pc camera. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
