Default Re: Anyone smarter than WD support? (wish I was).

Go to the Western Digital site and download their diagnostic tool. Use it to
"low level format" the disk by writing 0's to the drive and you should be
back to virgin.

You can use fdisk to force a re-write of the master boot record, but
only at your own risk.

You are going to have to reinstall the OS and the programs,
after wiping the hard drive.
