Maxtor (now Seagate) have a history of running warm/hot. Just make sure you
have good case cooling and you should be OK.
I run 6 or 7 Maxes without problems, some in external enclosures with less
venting than desktop cases and they are 6, 7 & 8 years old now.
I did build a system last year with 2 x Sata WD's and they are very nice,
quiet and cool so have changed my allegiance now.
