Default Remote keyboard on Laptop?

Is there any problem using a remote keyboard with a laptop (via USB of
course)?

I want to buy a Dell Inspiron N7110 laptop to drive my home theater
setup, connected with HDI, using my lazyboy. I know a mouse will
work - I have never tried a keyboard.

Something like the Logitech wireless keyboards

http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboa.../keyboard-k360

which use their "Unifying receiver" might be worth a look. Once you have
the receiver plugged into your computer you might as well use one of their
wireless mice/trackballs too since the receiver is the same and works with
both simultaneously. I've got my main computer set up like that using the
now-superseded K340 and it works very well. I don't really need the
wireless in this setup but it does save additional tangle behind my
workstation.

I'm a fan of Logitech keyboards and mice as well. Also, I've purchased
several of these, and have been happy with them:

Fairly often, they get down to $30 as well.

I've a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard + Wireless Mouse. I can say that
they are very "light" compared to Logitech that appear solid.

anyway, they work very well, I've got them since a couple of years.

There can be issues with numlock and logging-on, if you use a password
which contains numbers, and if the wireless keyboard you choose is a
compact one which uses dual-function numeric keys and defaults to
numlock-off.
Then you have to remember to press numlock before entering your
password (or change your password to something else.)
Other than that sort of minor annoyance, no problem.
