Socket A motherboard with Firewire

Hi,

I have an old Athlon 1800+ XP Thoroughbred Processor and want to build a
second PC using it and an old ATA hard drive and 512MB DDR memory i have. I
also want the PC to have Firewire so i am looking for an appropriate
motherboard that will take the above which has Firewire on board.

I dont want to spend a fortune and would appreciate any suggesstions,

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Find a MB you like and if it doesn't
have the desired Firewire ports (or USB 2.0 for that matter) you can
easily buy a PCI card which will provide either or both. A passable
Firewire card can be had for < $20 (US) from various manufacturers.

Ive seen some on Ebay cheap from time to time. I got one at Compusa
for $10 . They had as they usually do a series of sales on Firewire
and USB cards but havent had one recently . They are already starting
the back-to-school mkting wave so Im sure there will be a sale
somewhere in the next few months in the US.
