I'm using Everest and Speedfan, but they have conflicting labels for the
temperatures. I have core1 and core2 that seem to tie up (both around 44),
but the CPU temperature is reporting differently on both. Everest has a CPU
temp of 35 and speedfan says 51. Is the central core CPu temp normally
higher or lower than the 2 cores? I would expect cooler, so would tend to
believe Everest.
The 51 degree reading that speedfan has called 'Core' seems to match the GPU
(graphics) temperature in everest. (7600GS).
I know that speedfan is generic and won't get it right - this isn't a
complaint I just want to figure out which label is which! Speedfan has 9
temperature readings and Everest only shows 6:
Everest - motherboard, cpu, core0, core1, GPU, HD1.
Speedfan - GPU, temp1, temp2, HD0, HD1, core0, core1, core, ambient

Look at the temps when you start a stress test like Orthos.
It'll be pretty obvious which is CPU since the temp shoots
up so much so fast.

If you enter CONFIGURE and look at the source of each temperature you
will most likely discover that you were actually looking at the VIDEO
CARD CORE temperature (AMBIENT is the second temperature reported
sometimes by the video driver).

Fantastic thanks. It would appear that I don't actually have a temperature
for the CPU! Only Core0 and Core1. The Configure page shows:

CORE0 and CORE1 are the internal temperatures of your CPU. I think
that the CPU temperature you are after would be a subset.
