Default TFT monitor DVI : no posting of starting when booting (no signal)

Hello,

I changed my old CRT monitor for a TFT one (Mirai). When I use the VGA
connection, I can see all the starting sequence : post, lilo, launch of
kubuntu (GNU/linux). But if I use the DVI connection, the monitor
doesn't receive any signal untill the desktop starts. In this case, I
can't access bios or the boot-loader, I don't see if the OS is starting
correctly or not...

I use an ATI Radeon 7500 graphics board with free drivers. My
motherboard is Liteon NA380.

Do you know what could I do ?

Thanks for help
Gary

The card should be able to use DVI the moment system is
turned on, no driver factor involved. I'd replace it with
something else, and probably nVidia based as the driver
support tends to be better.

So there must be a driver involved, that is activated
when the OS kicks in.

Or that monitor cant handle the other modes on the DVI, like with the bios screen
or that card isnt putting them out on the DVI connector for some reason.

The obvious thing to try is a different monitor and see if it shows
anything on the DVI input when the system is on the bios screen.
