Default Video Card Clock speeds and Bandwidth

Hello everyone, I am researching a gaming card, again. Looking at a site
that does comparisons
http://www.pcvsconsole.com/features/video/

The clock and bandwith vary on each card. Comparing a 9800 pro and 9800 xt,
one does not see much difference in the clock speed and bandwith, yet prices
are usually higher in a 9800xt.

So, what matters here? Clock? Bandwidth?

TIA

XT has twice as much pipelines compared to first 9800 Pro's (350 core).
However, on the lates Pro's, all pipelines are present but not activated by
bios. Downloading and installing the XT bios on these cards will upgrade
them from Pro to XT and save you a lot of money.

rubbish - XTs are essentially faster Pro's - same number of pipelines and
same memory bandwidth (256bit)
just higher clock speeds. higher clock speeds leads to more data being
handled ie more bandwidth.

XTs have built overclocking function so if the card is running cool enough
it'll automatically overclock
but you can always overclock a Pro using Radlinker or Powerstrip etc .. if
you want to.
