Wanted: good tv tuner\video capture card

I want to get TV on my computer. I had a 64M ATI ALL in Wonder video card
with TV, but recently upgraded to a Diamond 256M video card w/o TV.
I want to be able to schedule recordings, through some kind of free onscreen
TV guide like my ATI card, and probably MORE importantly, be able to record
from an external source like a DV camcorder or VCR, (it doesn't have to have
a DV connector on it, SO-VIDEO is fine). I also like the idea of an
external unit that hooks up to the computer via USB, that way I can keep it
on my desk and don't have to pull the computer out from the stand it sits in
when I want to connect it up.
Does anyone have any good suggestions? Pros and cons on what company/model
to go with? There's a zillion of these things out there and I don't want to
make a bad choice.
