I have two Corsair CMX512-3500C2PT DDR memory (512MB, 433mhz, CL2),
which recently seems to cause my motherboard won't even POST at all.
After some trouble shooting, I suspect that the problem is on the
memory and I put both of them on a working Dell PC (which originally
have two 512MB memory installed). The weird thing is that, on my AMD
machine, it doesn't matter whether I put in just ONE memory chip or
TWO, it simply WON'T post, but if I put in just ONE memory chip (either
one) into the Dell machine, it works (motherboard could post) and XP
Pro seem to run OK (with 512MB), but it would NOT post at all if I put
in TWO memory chips (and I'm aware of the slot 0, 1, 2...that kind of
stuff, and when I put in TWO memory chip, I was putting them in the
same spot of the original TWO dell memory chips)... Does anyone know
what might be wrong?? Many many thanks!
By the way, as the Dell PC (probably using Intel mobo) has 4 memory
slots, so I also tried to put in all 4 memory chips (2 Corsair which
might be problematic, and two Dell ones that came with the Dell), it
also works just fine!! Weird! It just won't work if I put in TWO
corsair ones...
Using memtest86 to test both chips right now also works fine..

It could be that your motherboard is not compatable with your
motherboard. If so, got a bios upgrade.

It could be that your motherboard is not compatable with your
motherboard. If so, got a bios upgrade.
