Will freezing temperatures damage a pc?

I want to leave 2 computers with crt monitors in an unheated
storage space in new england over the winter. will this damage
the pc's or monitors? Thks,

Cold won't but moisture might.

Just don't try and boot up a cold system, leave it in a warm place for a few
hours so the cold and moisture can evaporate and you should be fine. Maybe
box them up really well.

The most likely place for the moisture to come from when
you bring the cold PCs and monitors in from the cold storage
area will be the air in the room which you occupy. The warm
air will contain a lot of moisture from cooking, bathing, flushing,
and breathing human beings. And as soon as that humid air
hits the cold PCs and monitors - Condensation!

I'd set a hair blower to warm (not hot) and bring each
electronic item in from the cold one by one and warm it up
with a steady blast of warm air until the item reaches room
temperature.

I have a friend that stores all kinds of old systems in a
shed over the winter and he claims they all still work, for
whatever it's worth.

I'd at least consider sealing them up in airtight bags with
a desiccant to reduce condensation... but I'm not
guaranteeing they'll be ok, then again they are shipped over
in unheated cargo holds on the ships.
