Default Ad Blocking

A new computer with Vista seems designed to allow all advertising.
When you go to any of the browsers, Firefox, Netscape, or Windows the
advertisements connections roll through the lower tool bar and there all
over the place.
Firefox's latest version doesn't support ad block.
Neither does Netscape or Internet Explorer.
What gives?
Any problems with older version and Vista?
