Default Have You Found A Way To Remove Your Public Information Online?

ASK THIS TECH...

Let's face it, we all have an identity and sooner or later in the real
world of Wilders that gets spilled over into the internet = Usenet...

I'd like to know if anyone has learned any tricks over the years to
share with others in helping to remove identity online...?

Here's one thing I know of to help get noob-people started...;

<http://www.ehow.com/how_6056272_delete-public-information-internet.html>

By the way removing data online does not prevent public records from
sending new information in the future...

To permanently have your records sealed, you will need to contact your
county's records department...

Get your public records closed/sealed...NOW...TECH DEMAND...

THANKS

"Send a request for the removal of your records via postal mail to the
website address. Websites' addresses can usually be found under the
"Contact Us" page. For security, the site may require your Social
Security Number, name, birth date and addresses in the last 15 years."

Oh, now, this is good advice. In order to "verify" that someone wants
their confidential information deleted from public view, they have to
give their most private and guarded information to the very assclowns
who are screwing you over in the first place?

*LOL*

DON'T...NEVER...JEW ADVICE...

If you are really concerned about public information about yourself
posted all over the internet, then you should try to keep your
"footprint" as small as possible. It's highly unlikely that you will
be able to be completely absent from any search, but it's the only way
to make the people searching for you to have a tough job.

This includes your obsessive posting to Wilders which is quickly
indexed by Google. Of course you knew that being a "Tech", right?

One thing I think geeks around the world need to do is get with their
governments and share the concerns over privacy and how public records
like they were considered public 20 years ago for most countries with
laws that are still unchanged regarding public records, as though the
Internet never exsited, should now be changed to protect people from
internet threats...

Make sense...? Am I getting through...?

Public information should not be public on the internet if you don't
want it, there's to much at stake...Public doesn't mean public when I
think TECH...

Governments don't give a rip what you think. They think they
have all the answers and only care about dictating what you need.

Excellent advice.

I might add the following:

In the United States, you must take steps to remove your
personal information from Intelius.
https://www.intelius.com/

This repository is often used by law enforcement, and also
corporate background investigators.

I cannot definitively prove this, but somehow, once you
disconnect from Intelius,
a significant amount of your personal information that appears
online, disappears.
That is my experience. I feel many persoanl information sites
ultimately draw from Intelius.

They will permit you to "opt-out" however they have very strict
terms. A request must be faxed
to them. They have a backlog of requests and a submission can
take several months to process.
Patience is the watchword here.

Approach them professionally. Don't get militant with them and
prattle about regarding your "privacy rights."
They could give a rat's *** less. We have none.

I suffered from the misconception that my information is
private, unless I give consent
that it NOT be shared.

Actually, the reverse is now true. Your information is
automatically shared and disseminated unless
you take steps to insure that it is not.

Info concerning their policy after you should OptOut on Intelius:

'...if your address or area code changes, your new information --
including other associated identifying information -- will again
appear unless you opt out the new record. Similarly, if the way in
which your name or address appears in a record differs from a
record you opted out (e.g., "Michael" instead of "Mike," or "1212
Second AVE NE" instead of "1212-2nd Avenue Northeast"), we may
include the differing record.'

So everytime something new arrives are everytime something is
changed, Intelius ignores your OptOut request and starts over.

Not necessarily.

I've had changes in my personal profile the last few years, yet somehow
my information remains suppressed. Perhaps my information just hasn't been updated yet.

Generally, it is is a significant change such as a change in address or employment that can prompt an update.

Regarding one's address, always use a PO Box whenever possible.

I grant you that in a sense, this is an uphill fight, perhaps a losing
battle. But life itself, is a losing battle. But we persist. And we fight the good fight. Forgive the trite philosophical digression!

I write only to stress the importance of opting out of Intelius.
They are the source.

I think one would find that much of your online information with numerous sources, just disappears. It is not as futile as it may seem.

Again, this is not entirely true, DasFox.

Many people confuse public records with public information.
They are different.

We are under assault, as our public information is widely available.

In some cases it's possible to seal a criminal conviction.
That is an example of a public record.

In some cases it's possible to seal a divorce decree.
This is another example or a public record.

It is not possible seal property records.

Medical records, are by definition, automatically sealed.
A credit report cannot be sealed, however you can "freeze"
your credit which means that no institution can even access your credit history. But credit history cannot be sealed per se.

The point in all my longwindedness, is that there is no
"one stop shopping" where one blow kills all. I truly wish it were that simple.

Generally, it is matter of contacting each institution with which you do business and "opting out." Which is to say you refuse consent to have your inforamtion shared with third parties By law, they must comply. Time consuming, but worth it in terms of reducing your information footprint.

At this point, one considers the notion of what it might mean to live anonymously and how that might be achieved.

Well, I was not being critical of your info, it was execellent.
I just sent in my opt-out fax. Using a PO Box is good also, but my
state requires you to put down a street address. Someone should
start a business that rents one inch square plots or their home's
back yard to people for a couple of dollars a month. Then they
could legally list that address as their home and get their license
sent there to be forwarded to their living address. Their address
could be listed as 1100 1/3200 Somename Street. Packages would not
be able to be accepted because of the mail fraud that could take
place.

This can be done by creating a corporation that owns the property
and assigning a trustee name of a trusted relative or friend.

NOT with Obamanigcare!

I think that this has to be done over and over every 90 days.
You may have to do this with each of the 3 big credit institutions
separately.

Good points. Thanks.

While property records cannot be sealed, as such, ownership can be accomplished by an LLC, or as you suggest by establishing a corporation and assigning a trustee.

Regarding the credit bureaus: You are referring to Fraud Alerts. They have to be renewed every 90 days. I know there have been some changes in the law regarding fraud alerts, and honestly, I'm not familair with those. US Identity Theft Protection services such as Debix and Lifelock made use of a legal loophole allowing them to automatically renew fraud alerts for individuals, on a rotating basis. I don't believe that is allowed any longer.

A credit freeze is different. This is the strongest protection available to an individual. Two things about that: 1) Your credit history is blocked and cannot be accessed by anyone. 2) No new credit can be established.

This means that if your personal information is criminally compromised, no new accounts can be established, as your credit report is blocked. Strong protection.

I'll admit it is a hassle for several reasons:

You may have a legimate reason to have a business access your credit file. Purchase of a new vehicle. Your auto insurance carrier may offer you lower rates if your credit score qualifies. Sucks, but that's the way they do business.

The three major credit bureaus will charge you $10 to unfreeze your credit. It is nuts. But that's the game. A $10 charge to initially freeze your credit. $10 to unfreeze your records. Ouch. But the protection is solid.

Cash, pre-planning, setting as much disinformation in previous
histories as possible and a shitload of luck.

Get yourself a better source. I used to listen to Kim Komando but I have
moved on to better.

Try Steve Gibson and ignore the naysayers. They ridiculed Jesus at first
until it was too late ..... http://www.grc.com/media.htm
