I tried to get a sign up logon for the TrueCrypt forum but received
a confirmation email saying that my account could not be created. So
I am going to post the problem here and at sci.crypt.
I have two encrypted TrueCrypt volume files where I keep secured
data (neither entire disk encryption). One is on my main disk (C:\)
and the other is on an external disk drive (Z:\). I have both listed
as favorite volumes. When I initially start TrueCrypt, click on Mount
Favorite Volumes, click Cancel in the Enter Password box for the 1st
TrueCrypt file (I mount this on Q:\), enter the password for the 2nd
volume in the Enter Password box (I mount this on S:\), click exit of
the main TrueCrypt window, click the TrueCrypt icon to bring the main
TrueCrypt back up, click the Mount button to mount the Volume listed
in the dropdown box and enter the password, - TrueCrypt then causes
the 1st volume that I mounted to remain mounted but the volume
disappears in the 'Drive Volume Size...' list and the volume that was
supposed to mount on Q:\, mounts on a completely new drive. This
sequence mounts the volume on a new drive every time it is done and
the subsequent drive letter becomes unusable.
This is serious problem. Sorry I couldn't get a logon into
TrueCrypt.
