Default Assigning applications to use different networks

My laptop has an RJ45 connector for direct connection to my dsl modem,
but I also have a usb2 wireless adapter.

Is it possible to use 2 different networks at the same time, one
wired, one wireless?

For example, if I am using a p2p software I would want it to use my
wired connection, if I open up a web browser, I want Vista to first
try to see if it can find a wireless hotspot to use.

Can this be done??

Not by default in Windows, which tries to pick the "best" network by
metric.

Only by IP address, and only by manually constructing the routing, a
real PITA that's probably not worth it.
