Belkin Wireless G Router Help

I have just bought a laptop, so I bought this belkin wireless router, all
reviews said plug in, run disk and it`s up, not for me. Following the
instructions it was all set up correctly, but the power light won`t stop
flashing. I rang Belkins helpline and it was no help, from what I can gather
it is trying to find an IP address. I have changed the LAN settings, as
instructed but it is still getting a 126 IP address and it should be 192.
Has anyone had similar problems, I an with Virgin Broadband

its ok, I found out it was a problem with my router, just bought another and
it's working now!
