Default Can't set password.

Have been using Belkin (F5D 7630 - 4a) wireless with my xp laptop for last
year or so - no problems. Recently I have needed to password protect the
system as I suspect some stranger is logging in. Problem is I select WPA -
PSK no server then I have to choose a password (8 to 63 characters) and
enter it. When I do so the system loses connection with the router and I
have to use router's reset button, re-enter 192.168.2.1 and start all over
again by resetting the system. Any help appreciated.

Connect to the router by cable, not wireless, to make changes like that.

Thanks for reply. I wondered about that but my laptop does not have an
ethernet outlet. Sounds like I should borrow one and try my luck.
