Default Connected to network but no internet access

Hi,

I have an Acer laptop with built in Wi-Fi card, and it works fine on
my home network.

However, I've been trying to connect to my parents network and am
having a problem. The network is detected fine, the encryption code is
accepted no problem, and the computer says that it is connected to the
network with excellent signal strength. But, when I launch a browser,
either Firefox or IE, it thinks about it for a bit (the connection/
download progress bar goes about half-way) and then goes to an "unable
to access this site" page. The same thing happens no matter what
website I try to visit.

Does anyone have a clue what might be going on here?

Thank you

Paul

Probably a security setting. Turn off _all_ security while
troubleshooting.
