Default connecting laptop to router

HI, I INSTALLED THE WIRELESS g (wrt54G) router to my desk top with the
intention to let my daughter to use her laptop off the wireless router.
I got the router to work with my pc but can't figure out how to get her
laptop to work with the wireless. she has an emachine m 6810
