Am relatively new to this wifi stuff. Just bought a laptop with built in
wireless. In my condo complex it found 2 unencrypted APs. Just to try it out
I tired to connect. One I connected to easily but no luck with the other.
Both signals were strong.
Any ideas on why this would be?

Thanks.

The one that does not work probably has MAC address filtering turned
on so it won't connect to anything but the addresses on it's list.

There's a workaround to this - it's a false security - but that is
what's keeping you out.
