For IP technology specialist DigitalSkys, e-government will be the main
market segment to bring growth in the Middle East this year, followed
by hospitality and travel, banking and finance and education.
DigitalSkys specialises in delivering and driving IP-based applications
using next generation 'Wireless Broadband Access' for global
connectivity.
As a 'last mile' wireless communications provider, it deploys
satellite-based VSAT and fixed wireless-based solutions with a varied
client base that covers fields such as educations and training,
manufacturing, oil and gas, airlines, military, petrochemical and
security.
Appearing at the inaugural GulfComms, DigitalSkys is hoping to meet
with customers and increase its regional visibility, as well as
generate more sales opportunities. DigitalSkys will be showcasing its
latest fixed wireless solutions. Delivering the latest in WiMax and
Wi-Fi technologies over licensed and unlicensed frequencies, these are
capable of providing bandwidth connections of up to 75MB per second.
Irina Iacobescu, marketing manager at DigitalSkys, says that the Middle
East is a rapidly growing market offering substantial opportunities for
the company.
"There is a huge need for satellite connectivity and especially
wireless services in the Middle East market. We believe that we can
provide a significantly different business model that focuses very
heavily on applications," Iacobescu explains.
