Default Linksys Wireless G Range Expander

Bought the Linksys WRE54G on E-Bay to extend my WL network range. Using the
CD setup program neither my second desktop or my laptop said it could find a
WRE54G unit even though it was right beside them. Also, although the 'link'
LED shows a connection with my access point, I never get any flashing from
the activity LED. I do however get a second identically named network when
my laptop does a search. The second one being unsecured.

Anyone have any similar instances with this unit? I use a Linksys WRT54G
access point.

Thanks,

Lee

I think I've got it now. Of course, it's difficult to tell if it's actually
working without knowing the previous limits of my WL net. I should
disconnect the extender and do some tests.

Thanks for the informative website.
