Default MAC Address filtering and WRT54G V6

I am trying to set up mac address filtering and no matter what I do all
wireless PCs are prevented from accessing the internet.
I check off "permit only PCs listed" and then I hit Edit mac filter
list, enter the macs and I should be done, right?
Nope.
Those wireless PCs listed can't bring anything up.
I go under Wireless client MAC list and I see the mac addfresses listed
in the _inactive_ area.
I check them off and hit "update filter list"
Still nothing. What do I have to to get the mac addy filtering to work?

Don't bother with MAC address filtering -- it does no real good (too
easily defeated), and can cause problems. Just rely on WPA with a
strong passphrase, the only wireless security that really works.
