Research In Motion to Restate Results by $250 Million

March 5 (Bloomberg) -- Research In Motion Ltd., maker of the
BlackBerry e-mail phone, will restate earnings by about $250 million
and said James Balsillie will give up his post as chairman after a
review of its stock-options grants.

``The shareholders here are the losers,'' said Richard Williams,
director of research at ICAP in Jersey City, New Jersey. He rates the
shares ``sell'' and doesn't own any. ``Backdating creates greater
dilution. More shares had to be created to pay for those greater
profits.''
