No wireless networks found

I have two laptops at home that have had no problem accessing the
wireless Linksys router for more than two years until last week. Now,
the Gateway laptop I use at home and for travel cannot access ANY
wireless system either at home or outside. The Orinoco Mini card shows
good when I system check and the drivers are current but still canot
see any wireless systems in range no matter where I go with it. Oh, it
did work for a few minutes two nights ago at the house and than turned
itself off again. No software has been installed lately and the system
restore will not restore for any points. Any help out there?
