Default OneZone WI-Fi in TO

Has anybody tried the OneZone WiFi in downtown TO?
Any good or bad feedback?
I am new to WiFi and will be using it when my laptop arrives (in about
10 business days) so in the meantime I am doing research on the WiFi
network and where I can use my laptop to access the net during lunch
hour. As well as information on how to use hot spots in general.
A friend told me that all you need is to find a hot spot and connect
to it but how do you find hot spots and how do we connect to it? Any
specific program that I need to have to actually locate the signals?
How about logging in? I know that with wired access DSL and dialup
need username and password to login but cable access doesn't. How does
that apply to Wi-Fi?

Thank you in advance for any help,

FayeC
