Default Sprint DSL

Hi all,

I am trying to help a friend set up Remote Desktop. He has a Sprint DSL 645
modem with a Linksys WRT 54G router. Everything is set up properly as far
as I can tell - port 3389 is open and IP address has been double checked.
No go. I am wondering if there is something inherent in the 645 modem.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

You need to open up NAT in the modem..

Connect your computer directly to the DSL modem (its a smart ethernet
connection, so a straight or crossover cable will work).

Set you local area network connection to DHCP.

Find the default gate for the modem by right mousing the connection and
Status > Support, then Repair the connection...or run ipconfig from Start >
Run > CMD > ipconfig.

Open Internet Exploder and go to the default gateway address.

Under Advanced Setup, select NAT.

SUA Only > Edit Details

Start Port No. End Port No. IP Address
1 All ports All ports 0.0.0.0
2 80 80 computer IP addy
3 3389 3389 computer IP addy

Save

Unplug modem for a few seconds and plug it back in.
