Default wall wort - switching vs old style transformer

I have a couple of different wall worts - 12v 1amp -
for various Linksys devices...routers, APs, etc.
Is there any difference as to the DC the box sees coming from the wall wort
with respect to filtering, smoothing, etc...
Can I just grab any of the 12v 1amp wall worts ?
The new ones are really small, and the old ones are big & heavy - nice
transformers -

There probably won't be any difference.
