So post the particulars of your ISPgeek organization, including the
names of your principals.

Interviews work both ways! A proper spam would have included this
information.

If you wish to come over an apply that is fine and we can talk by phone
along with completing a simple application that confirms your skills and
intentions. Interviews are conducted by phone or video conference and by
multiple people. We want you to be a match for the site and insure that you
will work well with others. This will be tested by example only and
references from other sites that you may have been staff on are required!

I'm sorry you feel that way....since you obviously don't know me I think its
a bit premature to assume that. I am picky about who we give full reign of
our site to however....I don't think you would be any different if you were
in my shoes. I want people to all get along and if the candidate has an
attitude issue or other...then they aren't anyone we need.

Snipping in the manner you used is poor form , I figure you are in reply
to me but with little to go on it's at best a guess, and you do have an
attitude problem , now the truth is you failed to mention remuneration

For what its worth, I wuold not necessarily expect to see remuneration
mentioned in a job ad. I also thought the original ad was perfectly
normally worded. No idea what happens in the US, but here in the UK
you would hardly mention all the details of the employer in a news or
online ad.

That said, I was surprised to see spelling mistakes. I'd find it quite
hard to work for someone who couldn't spell complement or rein. Unless
of course they're looking for someone to say nice things about the
rest of the team, while also being sovereign ruler... :-)

One other thing - ISPgeek can you form your sig block properly please,
it needs two dashes and a space on a line by itself at the very start,
so that its RFC compliant and newsreaders can trim it properly.

Mark thank you for the input. Be advised the spelling mistakes ...well you
can thank Bill Gates for that as each of these emails is spell checked and
passed with flying colors. Not surprising if there is a mistake.

Your responses to ISPgeek seem to accept that his initial post was a serious
request for employment inquiries and not a troll. If that were so, why
wouldn't he have posted on one of the employment sites instead? My guess is
that he's just looking for names for a spam list or something similar. In any
case, isn't there something a bit odd about a person who thinks his shoes have
the power to alter someone else's attitudes and behavior?

Mark, I hate to break this to you, since you guys invented the language, but
ISPgeek's command of English orthography is probably as good as that of the
average American college or university graduate. Nor is it a bit surprising
that your criticism sailed over his head; the percentage of Americans who
realize that "compliment" and "complement" are distinct words is almost
certainly a single digit. :^|

Originally these two spellings were used interchangeably, but they have come
to be distinguished from each other in modern times. Most of the time the
word people intend is "compliment": nice things said about someone ("She
paid me the compliment of admiring the way I shined my shoes.").
"Complement," much less common, has a number of meanings associated with
matching or completing. Complements supplement each other, each adding
something the others lack, so we can say that "Alice's love for entertaining
and Mike's love for washing dishes complement each other." Remember, if you're
not making nice to someone, the word is "complement."

Which two spellings? You yet again removed all context.

Complement and compliment are two quite distinct words, one
originating from "complete" and the other from "comply". There's no
evidence I'm aware of that they were ever interchangeable, and indeed
it'd be surprising since they have quite different meanings.

>See also complementary/complimentary

Which again have totally different meanings.

Actually, he didn't; but his signature is placed so that the quoted context
fell below the sig marker. Maybe your newsreader stripped it off.

I don't dare jump into that controversy. I know only a few words of French,
and my Latin is in the distant past. But at least you've got to give ISPgeek
credit for tightening up his prose and demonstrating that indeed he can (in
the words of my college linguistics professor) "spell like a gentleman". Even
after almost 400 years, we colonials don't like to embarrass ourselves in
front of a Brit. ;^)

Heh...so have I....guys I'm really sorry about the spelling....ran it
through the usual spell check and wasn't even thinking about context...just
an oversight. I must admit....of all the crap I've taken over these
postings your responses were the most enlightening and adult (bad
structure...its late and I'm not worried about it). So my hats off to you
for being civil...I appreciate your crtique and followup. This doesn't
change the fact that we are still looking for a few good people to
complement our existing staff.....

No it doesn't. The posters Header contains all the necessary
information. And you're using FA and should be able to see which message
the reply is a followup-to in one of the side panes.

Of course MacSOUP wins hands down in that respect. We have a nice
graphics pane where all the sub-treads are displayed. Take a look at
pictures 8/17 - 13/17 here
