Default wireless connection keeps dropping...

I have a MacBook Pro running 10.4.11
The wireless internet connection just randomly drops out.
I live in a neighborhood with a lot of other wireless networks and I'm
wondering if its the cause.
If it is what can I do to improve this situation.
I've changed channels to an unused channel. (My iStubler shows me my
neighbors channels)
The router is a D-Link DIR-655. Its firmware is up to date.
The wirless signal strengh is set to 100%...
Suggestions?
