That just means associated -- it may still not be meaningfully connected

Are you using a Belkin wireless utility, or Windows XP WZC?

That suggests that DHCP is failing.

Try turning off _all_ security on the wireless when troubleshooting,
ideally by resetting the wireless router or access point to factory
defaults.
