Default Wireless network setup - please help

I wonder if you can help me.

I am new to Linux and am trying to setup my wireless network card to work
under Linux.

I have installed Ubuntu on my laptop. My wireless network card is a Belkin
and the model number is F5D8010.

I could not find a Linux driver for my card so I installed ndiswrapper,
which allows me to use a Windows driver in Linux.
I went to the website
http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m...index.php/List where it lists
wireless network cards and which Windows drivers will work with them in
Linux.
The driver for me was number 33. The chipset is 'Airgo networks Pre-N' and
it uses the 'Netgear WPNT511' driver, so I downloaded this driver.

I successfully installed the driver and loaded it with 'modprobe
ndiswrapper'. I can see the AP (Access Point) using the commands 'iwlist
wlan0 scan'

When I am in Windows the 2 lights on the wireless network card are lit up
but they are not in Linux.

Being so new to Linux I do not know what to do next to get my wireless
network card working.
Also I am new to wireless networking so I do not know what a lot of the
terminology means.

Does anyone know of any websites that would help a complete novice like me
setup my wireless network card?

Do you know how I can get my wireless network card working successfully in
Ubuntu Linux?

Does anyone use the Belkin F5D8010 in Linux? If so, how did you set it up?

I hope you can help me.

I appreciate any help or information given.

Thanks!

Neil

Is this a PCMCIA card?
Take a look at these two articles:
http://www.gearhack.com/Forums/Displ...Red_Hat_8.html
http://www.gearhack.com/Forums/Displ...buntu_5.1.html

The first one is an article on how to set up a wireless network card in
Red Hat 8. The second one is an article on how to set it up in Ubuntu.
