Default WPA vs. WPA2 Signal Strength & Speed

I upgraded the firmware in my Linksys Wireless G- Speedboost router to
increase security to WPA2-PSK from the WPA-PSK I had been using. No problems
on the upgrade--- except that speed and signal strength is a bit lower now.

What's that all about?

Nothing to do with WPA2, just Linksys' firmware implementation
(probably) not optimising the hardware..

Power-cycle the router, leaving it unpowered for a minute or two. A
reboot often helps after a firmware install. The overhead on the WPA2
might be stressing the processor, also.
