Rod - what do you think of the election result?

How will this hurt/benefit Telstra?

That the voters clearly decided that with the economy
booming like it is, that anyone can run the country.

It remains to be seen if the dud and the
duck will stuff it up as badly as keating did.

Probably not, basically because the economy is now in a
lot better state than it was when Mal got the bums rush.

Get we do see the union goons get what they want tho.

> How will this hurt/benefit Telstra?

The govt will shaft telstra on broadband in the capital citys
and close. The dud has already announced that, using billions
of bucks from the sale of telstra in the freedom fund.

It will be interesting to see if they break up telstra as they have
advocated in the past. The dud is clearly prepared to ignore
labor policy and do whatever he chooses and it isnt clear what
he feels about that approach. He certainly hasnt endorsed
anything the fuckwit yanks have been demanding and it will be
interesting to see if they choose to use their voting power thats
the result of the shareholding they still own to give McGauchie
the bums rush he so richly deserves given he's a liberal stooge
that fucked the waterfront unions over.

Opel is virtually guaranteed to continue, I cant see that labor
will be prepared to kill it with the resulting contract penaltys etc.

One of the few things that that fool keating actually got right was
to rip away the telecom monopoly and to give the ACCC the power
to set the prices that telstra can charge its resellers, and I've
seen no evidence that the dud plans to change anything there.

Tanner is supposed to get quite a bit of power in the new
govt and he's always advocated putting the boot into Telstra,
so it will be interesting to see if he is allowed to do that.

Or they decided that a strong economy for some, didn't make up for all the
other crap that Howard has pushed.

Keating was the one who de-regulated the economy and started the dream run,
you idiot

Seeing as less than 20% of workers are even in a union, highly unlikely..

They clearly didnt give a flying red fuck about that in the
previous election that even delivered control of the senate.

Pig ignorant lie. That would have happened if Mal had been reelected, fuckwit.

Tell that to those who decided to apply the baseball bat to cheating, fuckwit.

Have fun explaining the number of union goons in the dud's govt.

We've already seen those union goons get work choices binned, even when
hordes of them like in the WA mining industry want to see them retained
because they have delivered much higher than otherwise wages and conditions.

Even Carpenter has enough of a clue to realise they shouldnt be binned.

No the fuckwit dud and his bimbo sidekick tho.

Rudd has already said that workers earning over 100k won't be affected,
which is practically everyone who works up North. Even the local chicken
treat manager in Karratha is on 120k..

He's also said that AWAa will be binned. So they will have
to change over to common law contracts at least, stupid.

Pig ignorant lie.

Irrelevant to whether AWAs will be binned, regardless
of whether those on AWAs want them or not.

There might just a be a reason why WA was the only state to see labor lose a seat and gain none.
