The Federal Government is preparing to approve switching off the CDMA
network as early as next week.
Minister for Communications, Stephen Conroy, said Telstra has supplied the
government with a report on network coverage and equipment equivalence of
the new Next G network compared with the outgoing CDMA service.
"I've asked for some further information and expect to be making a decision
about that next week," Senator Conroy said.
"But people should work on the basis that the CDMA network will be closed
down, whether it's the end of April or not long after that, because Telstra
has made a decision to turn the network off.
"What Labor is seeking to do is make sure we get equivalent coverage (with
the new network) and equivalent equipment so that the quality of service
continues."

We'll see...

Usual pack of lies.

Nothing like your subject, fuckwit.

No they're not. Well, at least, not according to the rest of this sad
excuse for an article, anyway. But then i guess Parkington's prepared to
scrape the bottom of the barrel to keep up his sickening flood of usenet
spam...

Whoopie doo!
I wonder what tel$cum's report says... "Coverage is 100% and NextG's the
dogs bollocks" no doubt.

No point asking for information from tel$cum, is there?

Did Conroy say that? Or did the "journalist" make it up? Or did
Parkington make it up and insert it. Come to that, did he write the whole
thing?

The quality of service would have continued with CDMA as it was, wouldn't
it?

How could Tel$tra say that the NextG coverage is the same quality, when
they specifically state that you need a certain phone to be connected
to a car kit? What about all the people out there on tractors, horses,
etc., or with no cars?
Are they supposed to get a hat with a car kit wired in, and plug into
it?

Or noisily. No one will hear them anyway if the phone don't work.
Hmmm. If a farmer falls over but no one can hear him cos he doesn't have
coverage, did he *really* fall over?
