Default Clubs to reap the benefits of Telstra funding

From
http://armidale.yourguide.com.au/new...g/1153793.html

ARMIDALE and District Soccer Association (ADSA) plans to increase training
to juniors, thanks to funding assistance from Telstra.
The association was one of a number of local clubs to receive funding from
the Telstra Assistance Fund (TAF), which came in the form of a number of
footballs, as well as other training equipment.

Association president Graham Parsons is looking forward to putting the
equipment to good use.

"It is good to get the funding, we were only one of about four or five
football clubs that got it," Parsons said.

Parsons said the association's new equipment will be fully appreciated in
the representative arena.

"All the gear that Telstra have given us will be handy this year, especially
since we have started this new representative competition," he said.

"That will involve our representative teams playing against other towns in
the zone.

"All the gear they have provided us will give the kids an opportunity to be
coached better, because each coach will have a lot more soccer balls and
other equipment."

Only in more advertising for Telescum, the only reason they sponsor
sport. At least it's marginally better than the club letting itself
be sponsored by the filthy, child-exploiting scumsuckers, Nike.

Ummm. Isn't that the reason most companies sponsor events?

Only in that they get their hooks into more teams and sportspersons
than the other scumsuckers. At least in Aus, it's more Puma and
Adidas in Germany. And Reebok in the UK. Don't make them any less
scumsucking child exploiters!

And to keep on topic, yeah, Telescum are bad, but not as bad as Nike.

There's a lot to be said for third-world sweatshops. They keep our prices
low and free up our time to concentrate on the more profitable industries.

And they provide much better employment for those
working in them than the alternatives they have too.
