Telstra has become an irrelevant wholesaler. Nobody with a clue uses Telstra
Retail/BogPond.

Nobody with a clue *and a choice*, maybe. But we don't all live in the
city! I wasn't at all happy about having to downgrade to a Tel$cum mobile
account - but it's either that or nothing where i live.

What's the cause of action? You can't (successfully) sue people just
because they say something stupid and/or annoying. Your continued
presence on Usenet is proof of that alone.
