Default Gotalk ditches Optus prepaid mobile for Telstra Next G

From
http://www.itwire.com/content/view/15008/127/

Gotalk's phonecard distributor CardCall, has been appointed a reseller for
Prepaid Partners authorised distributor of Telstra prepaid calling
products including Next G mobile services.

The agreement, which took effect on October 15, replaces gotalk's five and a
half years association with Optus prepaid mobile services. Gotalk CEO, Steve
Picton, said it would allow gotalk/CardCall to offer a one stop shop for all
prepaid telecommunications needs, including Telstra's prepaid mobile and the
new Next G service, prepaid Home and Telstra's 'Phonecard' and 'PhoneAway'
calling cards. Gotalk claims that CardCall is Australia's largest phonecard
distributor, with products in more than 30,000 retail outlets

Telstra's appointment of Prepaid Partners was announced in June as one of
several initiatives to revamp its mobile retail operations following the
breakdown of its long-term relationship with Crazy John's. Prepaid Partners,
a company of former Optus executives, planned to sell prepaid Telstra
phonecards at 7000 milk bars and service stations around the country.
Electrical goods retailer, JB Hi-Fi, and Mr Digital were also appointed as a
Telstra dealer.

Telstra also announced the appointment of Andy Ellis, a former executive at
UK electrical goods retailer Dixon's Group, as executive director of Telstra
Shops, reporting to consumer marketing boss David Moffatt. Ellis was charged
with managing an aggressive retail expansion plan that involve signing up
new dealers and opening new Telstra Shops. Telstra at that stage had 300
retail shops, having added 70 in the previous 10 months.
