Network Coverage
You will only be able to access HSDPA / 3G speeds and services in Virgin Mobile
3G / HSDPA areas (this coverage is provided Optus). Outside of these areas, you
will connected to GPRS which is far slower than 3G.
Virgin Mobile's GSM coverage reaches 96% of the Australian population whilst
their 3G coverage currently covers 83% of the population.
Now, given that the N97 will work on Optus's 3G network on both the 900 and 2100
meg bands, does this also mean that Virgin customers are able to access the same
network?
This phone payment and plan is a bit cheaper than the Optus offer which doesn't
make sense given that it has to pay Optus to access the service.

Corse it does when the phone can do that.

I think that you may not be aware that Virgin Mobile Australia ia a wholly
owned subsidiary of Optus who license the Virgin brand name for marketing
reasons.
