The CDMA network is being closed to the public.I wonder how far the
closure will extend?
What's to stop the government from keeping it going in a small way,
for other purposes like emergency services/medical/police and the like?

about, NextG may be working alright, I know many areas where CDMA is
still kicking the pants of NextG for coverage and reliability.
I'm still having problems here even, where I can see the tower and its
3 phones LG, and all friends and family with a host of other crap like
ZTE and Samsung all getting the same issues.

No problems, here. My nextG phone (dreaded ZTE) works as well as my
landlord's Nokia CDMA phone.
My nextG wireless connection is fine, too.
10 klms to the tower...through a shield of trees.
But the ZTE is a piece of crap in terms of build quality....Moto GSM
phone pisses on it.
