Default Optus Melbourne Network Down

Most areas of Melbourne who use the Optus GSM network can get coverage this
morning.

According to Optus they current have a network outage which started at
Approx 11pm last night.

No info on what caused the fault.

A total outage that lasted from about 1pm till well after 8am this morning.
Absolutely zero information on Optus's web site. Disgraceful.

By the way, ALL text messages sent to Optus phones during that 9-hour-plus
period are lost.

What do you expect from Optusarse?

Probably too busy counting their aussie 'battlers' and pumping them back
to Singapore to pump up the corrupt Lee Empire..

Nice try. But the reason I'm with Optus these days is because of what
happened years ago when I was stupid enough to be with Telstra Mobilenet.
Yep, you guessed it - complete system crash, hours-long outage, and all
text messages lost.

Aside from this one incident, Optus has been *flawless* for years for me.

Yawn. Welcome to the global economy, nice of you to join us. And do have a
look at who Telstra's major shareholders are, won't you? Do you seriously
think the majority of Telstra shares are held by the mythical "Aussie
battlers"?

Rubbish about the text messages lost.

"Hours-long" outage? Is this where we are meant to swoon?

Even though Optus themselves admitted this was the case?

Define "vast vast majority" and provide a source?

'Vast Vast Majority' = The majority of the shares issued.

'Australians' = Investment Banks

What? Surely you're joking.

Even Optus themselves admitted publicly that ALL text messages sent to
phones affected by the outage are LOST.

Get a clue and get back to us.

> "Hours-long" outage? Is this where we are meant to swoon?

Yes. It's completely unacceptable from a modern communications carrier.
That's why so many people were pissed off.

Not in number, but in monetary value. Mum-and-dad play-investors don't
count. Dick.

The way I read the OP's comments, he was talking about a *Telstra*
crash, not the recent Optus crash.

Peter

I'm talking about the claim that Telstra lost the messages in their outage
years ago

Telstra Annual reports, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, etc etc etc et
al

The breakdown of the categories of shareholders are all there. Only a small
slice is overseas held. Less than 20% from memory

Another fucknucker!

The PARAGRAPH referring the poster changing to Optus because TELSTRA lost
messages in an outage

Thats clearly what I was commenting on. Dick.

Load of fuck arse shite.

8 hour outage in maybe two years? Whats that in availability, 99.99999%?

When you have anything to do with availability of telco networks or
applications as a job, come back and see me

In number, dick. As per Telstra annual report, dick, for the last
god-knows-how-many-years, dick
