Anyone know of the best deals on ringing AU from France on a mobile phone?

Global roaming using our existing Telstra account is expensive - is there a
French phone card that offers reasonable rates?

There are plenty of French pre-paid SIM deals.

Buy one when you get there. You will likely need ID.

It was easy to buy SIM cards from France by mail order until recently.
However, the EU is tightening up on SIM cards since the recent UK terrorist
scares.
